My Empowered Nutrition Meal Plans Review

My name is Pete Genot, and I am an Empowered Nutrition customer. I have been using the Empowered Nutrition Meal Plans since August 2009, and I have lost 22 lbs, decreased my bodyfat by 10% and lost 5.5 inches from my waist. How do I know Empowered Nutrition Meal Plans work?

Because I’m regular person…just like you. I’m not a fitness model. I don’t have a personal trainer or a chef/nutritionist like some athletes and celebrities do. I don’t use steroids, human growth hormone, testosterone, prescription diuretics or any other type of illegal supplement.

Let’s go back in time so you can see where I started…

That’s right…I used to be real chubby.

OK…who am I trying to kid? I was fat. I looked just like Tim Allen in that move The Santa Clause…all puffy…but with less good cheer!

You see, my job required me to travel 5 days per week and live in a hotel.

Every Monday morning, I would leave on the earliest flight available from Detroit, MI, to my contract job in Birmingham, AL.  After working a 10-hour plus day, I would pick-up some fast food and return to my “home” at the hotel.

For breakfast, I would grab something quick from the free hotel buffet…typically a bagel with cream cheese, a couple of pastries and a coffee with cream and sugar.  For lunch I would buy a candy bar or some other snack food from the vending machine in the cafeteria, or grab some fast-food if I had time.

After work, it was more fast food or a “big” dinner at one of the many national chain restaurants located near my hotel.  Toss in a few beers and it was time to call it a night.

Of course, I didn’t go to sleep right away.  The hotel had cable, so I usually stayed up late watching TV while all of that food sat in my gut like I had just swallowed a basketball. After a few hours of un-restful sleep, I was up early the next day to repeat the entire routine.

But let me continue the story…

At the end of the week, I’d get to fly back home and spend 2 days with my family before it was time to leave again.

After spending the week taking care of the kids without me, do you think my wife was in the mood to cook me a healthy meal? Nope! We’d just go out to dinner.

It’s no surprise that I gained over 30 lbs. that first year on the job. The second year I spent working the same routine, just in a different location (Edison, NJ).

The results were a little better. I ONLY gained another 10 (or so) pounds that year.

I went from being active and athletic to fat and sick in less than 2 years.

When I graduated from college, I weighed 185 lbs. with 6% body fat. After my experience as a “road warrior,” I tipped the scales at 225+ lbs. and my body fat was OVER 26%.

I also developed a host of health issues because of the weight gain and unhealthy lifestyle, including:

  • Frequent attacks of gout…very painful!!!
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Elevated blood sugar
  • Cold sores
  • Alternating constipation and diarrhea
  • Sore joints and other unexplained “aches and pains”

I was a complete mess! I had to do something different, or I wasn’t going to make it.

I took control of my life, starting eating healthier and followed a regular workout program. I was able to lose over 35 lbs., and I wanted to make sure I kept it off even when I had to travel.

The problem was that I always seemed to follow the “yo-yo” diet.

You know what I mean. I would be great shape, let my nutrition and fitness programs lapse, and then gain 10 lbs. Then I would start to feel bad and then bust my butt to lose the weight again.

I’d be OK for awhile…but then I would just repeat the process all over again.

The main reasons my nutrition program was such a struggle were:

  • I didn’t really know how many calories I was consuming. I just didn’t understand portion size.
  • I ate the same stuff over and over…and quickly became bored with the food choices.
  • The foods I ate were bland and didn’t taste good…like plain chicken breast or tuna right of the can. Yuck!
  • I would skip meals and then be “over hungry” later in the day and overeat.
  • I tried all the “fad” diets like Adkins, the Zone, and Weight Watchers. I even tried some of those Nutrisystem meals…talk about gross!I had some success with these programs…but it wasn’t lasting. My body just didn’t react well to a nearly 100% protein diet. Or they were just to inconvenient to follow. I mean…who really wants to count “points” or eat bacon with every meal.Well…OK…I LOVE bacon and I would eat it with every meal…but how can that be healthy for you?
  • Lack of support. Sure…I can read all about nutrition in a book, but I didn’t have access to the author. What if I had a question or I was confused about part of the plan. Sorry…out of luck!

Here’s another personal story I want to share…

Back in November 2008, I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident while traveling back home from Florida to Ohio.

While recovering from my injuries, I was unable to exercise.

I guess I was a little depressed too, because I also started to overeat…again.

My weight increased up to 190 lbs. and I was poised to go higher…just like I did in the past. Even worse, being over the age of 40 makes it even tougher for me to lose weight…especially around my midsection. I hate having that “middle-aged man” body.

But THIS time, I had the Empowered Nutrition Meal Plans to help me. So I made a few “small” changes and they worked for me.

Here are my starting measurements in August 2009:

This is not “doctored” or faked. I did not tan, shave my body hair, put on oil, starve or dehydrate myself before taking this picture. I just took off my shirt and my wife snapped it in our living room. This is how I look all of the time.

P.S. I forgot to mention another cool benefit of using the Empowered Nutrition Meal Plans…it’s OK to cheat.

Because I stick to the meal plans the majority of the time, I am able to enjoy foods I really like.

For example, I usually eat a small piece of dark chocolate every night for dessert. I also have one “cheat day” every week where I eat whatever I want, including some of my favorite foods like pancakes, waffles, home fries, bacon, a cheeseburger, fries, pizza, tacos, chili and beer.

I do this without gaining any weight and maintaining a healthy body fat percentage.

That’s it. It really is that simple.

    Went to the Empowered meal link. Can NOT read the skinny-white-font-on-black screen. Gave up. Probably interested in the product. Let me know when his info is readable.

    What do you recommend for full-meal replacement when on the road. I’ve used Endurox R4, and Spizz.
    Spizz has a great nutritional profile and taste….

      Hi Rick,

      Thanks for checking out Patrick’s site! I’m not sure what you mean about the “skinny-white-font-on-black-screen.” I just checked out his site again and it is black font on a white screen. The outside border is black, but that doesn’t affect the readability of the page.

      Also, I just noticed that Patrick is almost giving away his entire “12-week Transformation” program for just $77. That is less than I paid for it and a crazy good deal.

      With regards to the meal replacment…I don’t use any at home or while traveling. I try to stick with mostly whole foods, but I do add some pure protein powder to some of my drinks, yougurt, etc. When buying protein powders or meal replacments, the most important thing is to buy them from a trustworthy source. Many of the big “name brand” products have been tested and the results show they are contaminated with some nasty stuff.

      I know Patrick sells protein, and I trust him, so you can check it out on his site here =>> Empowered Nutrition Products. I also trust the guys over at Prograde Nutrition. They test their products for purity and share the results with the public.

    I truly can’t understand people who think that they can lose fat with diets & pills. I mean, come on!!! Its not rocket science now, is it? Intake less calories than you burn and you’ll lose fat – yes, its that easy!!!
